OK, another challenge completed. I could practice on my guitar every day for 30 days straight.
Sure playing guitar is nothing new for me. I started about 6 years ago but with a lot of ups and downs.
Sometimes I played like crazy sometimes I was avoiding guitar for months.
As you can guess it’s not ideal. My motivation simply jumping back and fort.
Especially this year was laying my guitar in the corner of my apartment covered with dust.
What a shame.
So 30 days ago I said no more. I powered my Squier and started practicing. Actually it wasn’t my only motivation. My friend started playing recently and he began to beat my scores in the Yousician application. I simply couldn’t keep it like that. 🙂
Currently, I have three guitars at home. An old no-name acoustic guitar. Electric Squier telecaster and one smaller acoustic Fender Parlor which I bought in Toronto.
I really cannot complain about my gear.
Before my challenge, I played usually Fender. The smallest one, easy to play and actually the fastest to start playing. Which really helps to make the first step.
But the past 30 days I played just the electric guitar. I try to jam a little bit and I really enjoy to play it. I would say is the most important part right now for me.
I need to enjoy playing. Its gonna make me keep going and will to take a long pause again. I hope.
I didn’t set the minimum limit of playing time. The only goal was just to grab the guitar every day and practice for a while.
The only measurement was to fulfill my goal in the Yousician app (about 10 minutes of playing). I use just the free version so I cannot actually practice more. Usually, I played more than that. I practice some songs or just shred around the fretboard. I would say my average playing time was about 20 minutes.
Yeah, it’s not much. But I guess for the start it’s better to set lower goals and slowly practice longer and longer (Yeah, I do not plan to stop playing :))
Stay with me. Emil
