First days in Bali

So I am in Bali .. and my life it’s gonna be now almost just about surfing. I’m living in my friend’s house with a shared room, but almost all my time now spending at my other friend’s house who are renting a nice villa .. Surfing beginnings are pretty hard. I didn’t do anything for almost 6 months. So all my muscles hurt so much. But hopefully, after a few weeks, it gets better.

Just small facts about Bali. The Balinese currency is Indonesian rupiah(IDR) and it’s about 1USD = 13500IDR so its funny you can be easily a millionaire here unfortunately just in IDR :). You can exchange money from foreign currencies for sure, but later you usually take money from ATM but be careful there are a lot of scams. The most common is that they copy your card and later takes as much money as they can from it (it already happened to my friend). So try to pick just “safe” ATMs (by banks or ask at your hotel) or keep your balance low and just before you want to take money move the amount there from another account.

The best way how to move around Bali it’s by motorcycle(scooter) it’s fast and easy (full tank costs around 30000IDR) if you run out of fuel on the way you can buy a 1.5l bottle for 10000IDR in many shops around the streets.. and you would be lost here without it.

I’m living on the south side of the island in Ungasan. I am mainly here because of surfing so I need to be close to the surf spots. The most famous around are Uluwatu(the most advanced spot), Balangan, Padang Padang, Green Bowl, Dreamland.

The surfing beginnings are always pretty hard. And if don’t do anything for more than 6months is even worse. All your body muscles hurt and after every session and your stamina is low that’s why now surfing just once per day. Hopefully, Its gonna get better and I can surf more.

Also, I don’t eat much again last a few months (don’t know why) so I need to eat more, cuz you need a lot of energy in the water.

First days in Bali are pretty chilled so far, my friends rented a house close by a place I’m staying so I am almost all day long there. We just talked, swimming in the pool or eating. Hard life isn’t it?:)) I cannot complain. But I hope I’m gonna get a little bit busier. More surfing, I need to start reading books again, playing guitar and so.

I forgot to mention, that there is a wet season in Bali so it is raining kinda a lot. First, I thought that there are gonna be maybe just some showers in the morning and then sunny but actually it is raining pretty heavy second day in a row, hopefully, it gets better haha.

My posts are now gonna be more about ordinary life, but hopefully, I will go on some trips as well so keep tuned on my blogging and read me next week!:)
