Let’s Ask the Authors and Bloggers – Part 2

It’s Tuesday and my regular post is here as always. 🙂 I really try to keep this schedule. I hope I am gonna be able to make it through the whole year and set my posts record :).

I am so glad I could bring this series. Bloggers and author who replied to my stupid questions are simply amazing and I really appreciate their time.

Check out Part two below.

Bill Slawski (SEO By the Sea)

Great source of SEO information. If you wanna know more or work with Bill. Check the Seobythesea.com.

Which book influenced you the most?

1997’s Roger C. Parker’s Guide to Web Content and Design: Eight Steps to Web Site Success I was just learning to promote websites, and it was filled with great information. Not really anything on SEO, because there just weren’t search engines around to use at that time.

Where are you getting your blog topic ideas?

Usually from the latest patents filed or granted for search engines. Every week.

How many hours do you write on average per day?

About 2-3 hours per day.

Have you been a good writer at school?

I was a good writer at school, but having a chance to write every day has made me a much better writer.

Who is your favorite blogger outside of your SEO bubble?

One of my favorites is Schneier on Security: https://www.schneier.com/

Greg McKeown (Gregmckeown.com)

Author of book Essentialism – The Disciplined Pursuit of Less. Such a great book I have finished very recently. I definitely recommend its a great book.

Subscribe to Greg’s Newsletter and get anoher interesting thoughts and ideas.

Which book influenced you the most?

  • The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ
  • 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
  • The Power of Positive Thinking
  • Bonds That Make Us Free
  • Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Do you have a special writing routine?

For Essentialism I wrote from 4am till 2pm.

Have you been a good writer at school?

No. Not when I was a teenager. I had a writer’s heart and mind but I didn’t have the skills and structural knowledge. Bit by bit I have learned.

Tyler Tervooren (The Riskology)

If you wanna take a risk as an introvert check Tylers project The Riskology. Great source of inspirational articles and help for Introverts and future leaders.

Which book influenced you the most?

Susan Cain’s ‘Quiet’ was a very influential to me.

Which habit would you recommend to start right now?

It doesn’t matter! Just pick something you think you can do consistently and work at it. Make it something easy. If you succeed, you’ll build the confidence to scale up to much more.

Do you have a special writing routine?

I have a whole publishing process that I follow all the way from concept to writing to promotion. It is always being tweaked.

Have you been a good writer at school?

I was an okay writer at school, but I didn’t enjoy it. Writing for school and writing for an online audience are usually very different skillsets, though.

Who is your favorite blogger outside of your bubble?

I really like Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com.

Another Part of the answers. You can look forward to one more. I am happy I could make this series happen. It definitely gives me some ideas and the motivation to continue.

Even if it would just one book tip or one sentence which would send in the right direction it would worth it.

See you in the next part.

Stay safe. Emil
