Scarborough Bluffs

Finally, I looked around a little bit. First stop was Scarborough Bluffs, I didn’t know about this place by the Ontario lake, till I read a blog post from Peggy here (written in Czech). She is also on working holiday program in Toronto and writes a blog about it. So If you want to learn more about Toronto living to visit her blog. Her posts are funnier with beautiful photos and more information. She explores Toronto much more than I so don’t hesitate!!:)

I was heading to Scarborough Bluffs already few weeks but always was bad weather or I was just lazy :), but finally, this Monday I visited it. I woke up around 5 in the morning, not because I planned it but just I couldn’t sleep anymore :). After a few minutes tumbling in the bed, I told to myself, that this is the right time to go and I went :).  Weather was beautiful!:)

The distance is reachable also on the bike, but at 5 am I didn’t have the power to use it :). So I go there by subway and bus. From Dufferin station where I live its quite easy ride. You just go to Victoria Park (green line) by subway and then by bus 12A or 12C to Kingston Rd at Ridgemore Ave. It takes a little bit over one hour. After that, you have to walk maybe 10 – 15 minutes to Scarborough Bluffs park. I arrived there around 7 AM!:)

You can find it quite easy and the first thing you meet is the border with all the danger warnings, that you can not cross the border. πŸ™‚ Actually, I wasn’t afraid at the first time so I crossed the border right away, but later I wasn’t that confident already!:)) First thing I did was that I descended to the islands under the rocks. The way went in between the highest peaks. I don’t know if it was the cleverest idea but I made it. πŸ™‚ The way is quite dangerous with rolling rocks, but  I saw some people down there so why not haha:). The islands are also reachable probably in a different way :).

There is a nice park, with a lot of benches. It is a really nice place to chill with a view of Ontario lake and a pretty beach. But actually, the cliffs looks much better from the top to have to say. So after a few minutes walking through the islands, I choose the same way and went to the top again. I am a little bit scared of heights have to admit so on the top I was really careful, haha, but I still made some nice photos I hope :). There are three peeks when you can take the photos but be careful and watch your steps!:) After be pretending to be a Japanese tourist (making maybe hundred of photos :)). I went home to go to sleep again!:) I definitely recommend to see the Scarborough Bluffs is a really nice place but again watch your steps!:) Enjoy the photos.

Toronto streets were last a few days also very busy. On Friday 1st of July was Canada day with a big firework at the end and also gay parade on Saturday and Sunday, I didn’t enjoy it much because I worked all three days. But people were having fun I think. πŸ™‚ The gay parade was especially quite crazy. Over four hours people cruising through the Yonge street and dancing, singing, drinking and much more. Rainbow colors everywhere :).

I read quite a lot also from the last post I mentioned reading. I read Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki by Haruki Murakami, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Wonder by R.J.Palacio. All were really good and catchy books, especially Wonder can recommend!:). If you have some tips what to read next don’t hesitate to leave a comment here!:)

Plan for next weeks is going more at Thaibox, this month I was really lazy a didn’t visit classes much, but I extended my membership again so have to go there now!!!:) Keep tuned a readme next week!:)

p.s. Sunrise in Bloor street!:)
